About Me
My journey started in Denver, Colorado, where I learned early the value of discipline, service, and hard work. I went on to compete as a Division I track athlete at Duke University, where I also discovered my love for mentoring and coaching others. That passion carried me through medical school at Mayo, where I combined my academic success with a deep desire to teach and empower those coming behind me.
Along the way, I launched Evolving Medic — a platform built to help students, especially those in healthcare, navigate school, training, and life with clarity and purpose. Whether you’re applying to med school, grinding through clinicals, or just trying to stay grounded while chasing ambitious goals, I’m here to share what’s worked for me (and what I’m still figuring out).
More than anything, I believe in building a life that’s sustainable, meaningful, and aligned with your values — not just on paper, but in how you actually live each day.
Quick Facts

I’m 29 years old, born and raised in Denver, CO.
I am married to my beautiful wife Madison, and we have toddler named Khari.
I am an orthopedic surgery resident at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, MN.
I graduated from Duke University where I was the captain of the Track & Field team, became a member of the Kappa Alpha Psi fraternity, and majored in evolutionary anthropology (hence the “Evolving Medic”).
I started my YouTube channel in 2020, my first podcast in 2021, my newsletter and second podcast in 2022, and my mentorship community in 2023.
My content centers around evidence-based strategies to excel as students and grow as people.
What is most important in my life
My family and our faith are at the center of who I am, and are the key motivators for who I want to become. A lot of my content aims to prove that you can pursue your career goals with a family if that is what you would like to do.
As a result, I talk a lot about productivity and time management tips.
From DI Athlete to Medical Student
I did not grow up interested in a career in healthcare. It wasn’t until I experienced a limb threatening injury that I truly appreciated the impact that physicians have on their patients. Now, I’ve found purpose in providing the the same gift of restoration to patients of my own, that my orthopedic surgeon once gave me.
Why I started all of this
The improvement we seek in the world is dependent on each one of us growing individually. Everything I create has the goal of motivating myself and others to #KeepEvolving
